The Sigma Shield line of products has taken the
industry to new standards of excellence. Through the development of a new radio
communications protocol the system is virtually error free. Unlike a number of
systems on the market, the Sigma Shield Radio Communications Protocol is not
subject to interference from outside radio signals and has strong safeguards
against “false positive” readings which eliminates the problem of false alarms.
In addition, the Sigma Shield System provides for
all the amenities of the information age.
All door designations are programmed into the system in Plain Text
rather than a non-descript Door Number. All
residents’ identities can be programmed into the system by Name and /or Room
Number providing staff with easy identification of the wandering resident. The
Central Notification Units can provide for Alpha Numeric output to a paging
system so that staff can be notified on the facility pocket paging system when
an elopement alarm has occurred. The Pager will notify the staff of the
location of the alarm in plain text and the identity of the resident right on
the pocket pager. If the facility so chooses they can add the software package
to the system so that they can manage the system from a standard desktop
computer which also records all alarms in a database so that the administration
of the facility can configure reports on all data occurring in the wander
control system at their facility.
